dripping with beautifully crafted detail brought to warm passionate life

MARKUS HOLLER - Achin’ For Summer (UK Sugarbush ’02. Markus was in
the Fortunate Sons & then Silent Blue. In 1990 he added Rick Corcoran(Orgone
Box) and Tam Johnston (General Store) to the band and they both feature
on some the songs here, although most of it is Holler on his own – all
written & recorded around ’90 -’91. The music is highly infectious
guitar driven power pop with big, hook filled choruses a la Flamin’ Groovies

look at their earlier 92- 96 stuff, but it plays like a brilliant follow-up

JOHAN - s/t (Dutch Excelsior/Spinart'96. Another fantastic band
from Holland on the excellent Excelsior label. Consistently one of my
faves, and not surprising because it takes up the racket from bands like
Velvet Crush, Teenage Fanclub, Weird Summer etc., cranks up the power
& dynamics a few notches and serves up a real scorcher - crammed full
of superb melodies) 8.00
JTG IMPLOSION (US Not Lame '03. This is a project by Star Collector's
Joe Giddings, and just like the band, this rocks and pops most
wonderfully. All the guitars, harmonies and catchy songs you could ask
for tied up in a quality package. Highly recommended!) 8.00
